Medical Transcription: Dictation Still Rules for Good Reasons

Doctors all over the country have much more in common than their medical degrees. More than 80% share the same preference for methods of patient documentation and medical transcription: dictation. Why dictation? Because it’s fast, it’s affordable and it’s familiar.

Dictation is the way things have been done for decades. Treat patients, dictate patient notes; send them off to medical transcription services for conversion into text based chart notes. Lather, rinse, repeat.
